Caterpillar Inc. in Singapore seeks an Electronic Components Project Lead to manage the design, development and testing of sensors for machine and engine systems.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams, drive project controls, manage costs, and ensure stakeholder expectations are met while delivering robust electronic solutions in a manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will manage multiple or complex engineering projects involving design, development and testing of electrical and electronic components (sensors) for use within machine and engine systems.
Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
Communicating with customers and managing expectations; ensuring effective use of project controls and reporting mechanisms.
Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
Reviews others' writing or presentations and provides feedback and coaching.
Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.
Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.
Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement.
Maintains focus on the topic at hand.
Communicates to clients regarding expectations of all parties.
Participates in negotiating the terms of the business relationship.
Maintains productive, long-term relationships with clients or vendors.
Empowers others to establish collaborative, healthy relationships.
Advises others on the assessment and provision of all technical solutions.
Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.

Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors significant projects.
Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.
Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.
Maintains open communication among project participants and interested parties.
Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms.
Interprets alternative interfaces between hardware and software and associated requirements and considerations. Advises on sensor output types. (analog, CAN, PWM)
Advises on matching methodology, materials and tools to the electronic product that is being built.
Evaluates the benefits and drawbacks of analog and digital circuits.
Develops quality standards and controls for suppliers.
Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.
Evaluates issues and terminates supplier relationships as appropriate; works with legal departments.
Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment.
Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.
Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.
