Job summary

NEXTBEAT SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Electrolytic Copper Trader to join their team in the Central Business District of Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in base metals trading and the ability to generate new business within Southeast Asia.

The role requires at least 5 years of industry experience, direct connections with downstream end-users, and fluency in English along with Mandarin communication skills. Competitive performance-based earnings along with medical and dental coverage will be offered.

Job description

Monthly Salary: UP to $18,000 (Negotiable)

Working Address: Central Business District

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrolytic Copper Trader with a strong background in base metals trading, particularly in the Southeast Asian market.

Candidates should possess a deep understanding of downstream end-users and possess established channels and client networks in the region.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Results-driven trader with a strong client base across Southeast Asia and a proven ability to generate new business opportunities.
• Resourceful and proactive, with excellent business development skills.
• Adaptable to working within an established management structure.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Industry Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in base metals trading, specifically in electrolytic copper.

• Proven track record in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.), with additional exposure to European, South America markets being a plus.

Market & Client Base:

• Direct connections with downstream end-users (not trading houses).
• Develop client channels beyond the company’s existing network.
• Strong resource network with concrete client references in Southeast Asia.

Language Proficiency:

• Fluent in English
• Mandarin communication skills (spoken and listening proficiency required; writing skills not essential), as the role involves frequent verbal communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders
• Additional local language skills (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese) are advantageous but not mandatory

Sales & Trading Capabilities:

• Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to expand market reach
• Experience trading across overseas markets, using Singapore as a regional hub for Southeast Asia with potential exposure to European markets.
