Job summary

NTU’s School of Materials Science and Engineering invites a Research Fellow to advance electrocatalysis and electrochemical synthesis. The role centers on catalyst design, mechanism insights, and scalable process development for energy-conversion reactions.

The successful candidate will independently plan and execute experiments, publish findings, and guide junior researchers while contributing to cross-disciplinary projects within the team.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in electrochemistry and electrocatalysis.
• Experience in catalyst/materials synthesis and electrochemical testing.
• Ability to design experiments and analyze structure-activity relationships.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, synthesize, and characterize electrocatalysts and electrode systems for selective electrochemical transformations of organic molecules and related energy-conversion reactions.
• Conduct electrochemical measurements and reaction optimization to evaluate activity, selectivity, Faradaic efficiency, stability, and kinetics under relevant operating conditions.
• Investigate reaction pathways and interfacial mechanisms using electrochemical analysis and materials characterization.
• Develop and optimize electrochemical reactors and scale-up strategies with consideration of techno-economic feasibility.
• Maintain clear research records, prepare manuscripts and presentations, mentor junior researchers, and ensure laboratory safety.
