The Senior Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing electrical service operations, supervising electricians, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and making sure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
This is a senior hands-on position. The successful candidate should be an experienced electrician who is capable of handling more complicated electrical works independently while also providing technical guidance, training, and supervision to other electricians.
Perform and supervise residential and commercial electrical works.
Diagnose electrical faults accurately and recommend appropriate solutions.
Handle more complex electrical troubleshooting and rectification works.
Carry out installation, replacement, repair and maintenance of electrical components and systems.
Ensure electrical works are completed safely and according to applicable requirements and good industry practices.
Provide technical support to electricians when they encounter difficult or unusual problems.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to electricians.
Assign or coordinate work based on technicians' skills and job complexity.
Check the quality of work completed by electricians.
Ensure technicians follow the company's SOPs and safety procedures.
Identify mistakes, workmanship issues and areas for improvement.
Help the team solve problems instead of simply escalating every technical issue to management.
Train junior and newly hired electricians.
Conduct practical on-the-job training.
Teach technicians proper troubleshooting methods instead of relying on trial and error.
Improve the team's overall technical knowledge, workmanship and productivity.
Assess whether technicians are competent to perform different categories of electrical work independently.
Ensure all electrical jobs meet the company's workmanship standards.
Conduct inspections or checks when required.
Reduce callbacks, complaints and repeat visits caused by incorrect diagnosis or poor workmanship.
Investigate technical complaints and determine the root cause.
Recommend improvements to electrical work procedures and SOPs.
Work closely with the operations and customer service teams to resolve complicated electrical cases.
Advise the team on job requirements, manpower, materials and estimated work required.
Assist with site inspections and preparation of quotations for complicated electrical works when necessary.
Identify potential problems before work begins and communicate them clearly to the relevant team.
Ensure jobs are completed within a reasonable timeframe without compromising safety or quality.
Strong practical experience in electrical installation, repair and troubleshooting.
Good understanding of residential and commercial electrical systems.
Able to diagnose electrical problems independently.
Able to supervise and guide other electricians.
Strong sense of responsibility and workmanship.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Able to communicate clearly with technicians, operations staff and customers.
Willing to take ownership of difficult electrical cases.
Safety-conscious and disciplined in following procedures.
Relevant electrical qualifications or certifications will be an advantage.
