Job summary

AIK HUAT 28 PTE. LTD. is seeking a General Foreman to supervise electrical and electronic installation, testing, and repair works at construction sites in Singapore.

You will lead a team of technicians and ensure work is performed safely, on time, and in accordance with drawings and standards. The role requires strong leadership, experience in installation and maintenance, and the ability to read electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of electrical/electronic installation and repair experience.
• Prior Foreman or Senior Technician experience preferred.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specs.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and site practices.
• Physically able to work at construction sites and overtime.

General Foreman - Electrical & Electronic Installation and Repair (Excluding Lift)

Job Description

• Supervise and coordinate daily electrical and electronic installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair works.
• Lead and manage electrical technicians, electricians, and site workers to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, specifications, and work instructions.
• Monitor site progress and ensure all works are completed according to project schedules, approved drawings, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to resolve site issues.
• Inspect completed installation and repair works to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable electrical standards.
• Identify electrical faults and coordinate troubleshooting and corrective works.
• Supervise the installation of electrical wiring, distribution boards, lighting systems, power systems, control panels, containment, and related electrical/electronic equipment.
• Ensure proper use, handling, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor manpower, material requirements, and daily work activities.
• Prepare or provide daily progress reports, work records, and site updates as required.
• Enforce workplace safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe working practices.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and brief workers on work procedures and safety requirements.
• Ensure housekeeping and work areas are maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
• Perform other duties related to electrical and electronic installation and repair as assigned by the management.

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical/electronic installation, maintenance, and repair works.
• Previous experience as a Foreman, General Foreman, Chargehand, or Senior Technician is preferred.
• Relevant technical qualification or certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, Electronics, or a related field .
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Good leadership and manpower supervision skills.
• Able to coordinate multiple work activities and meet project deadlines.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Familiar with workplace safety procedures and electrical safety requirements.
• Physically fit and willing to work at construction/project sites and, when required, overtime or weekends.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Lift/elevator installation and repair is excluded from this position.
• Relevant local competency certification or electrical authorization will be an added advantage, where applicable.
