Job summary

MGM SHIP MANAGEMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician to oversee electrical systems on ships. The role involves traveling to vessels, performing regular maintenance, inspections, and on-site repairs to ensure reliability and safety.

You will diagnose issues, install and retrofit components, coordinate with other departments, keep meticulous records, and uphold all maritime regulations. A Nitec qualification and at least two years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Nitec in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in a maritime environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of electrical systems and components on vessels.
• Travel to vessels to perform on-site repairs and maintenance as necessary
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues on vessels
• Install new electrical systems and components on vessels
• Update and retrofit existing electrical systems as required
• Work with other departments to ensure installations are completed on time and within budget
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and fix electrical problems
• Utilize various testing equipment and tools to ensure accurate assessments
• Provide technical support and advice to vessel crew and other departments as needed
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing electrical work
• Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and standards
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations
• Perform routine housekeeping of worksite to ensure the workshop is kept safe, neat and clean for work
