Job summary

WuXi AppTec is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to maintain electrical equipment and facilities in the production workshop, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure operational reliability to support normal plant production.

Responsibilities include developing preventive maintenance plans, supporting capital projects with electrical design reviews, and supervising installation, commissioning, and on-site inspections of electrical equipment, in alignment with international and national

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Automation, Mechatronics or related discipline
• Fluent in English and Chinese
• Familiar with high/low voltage distribution systems and motor control theory
• Willing to work on-site, including nights/weekends for emergencies
• Experience in large pharma/chemical or power plant industries preferred

• Develop preventive maintenance (PM) plans for electrical equipment and carry out preventive maintenance
• Provide electrical technical support for capital and modification projects, including review of electrical system designs and equipment selection
• Supervise installation, commissioning and progress control of electrical equipment and organize on-site inspections
• Ensure compliance with international and national electrical standards and codes
• Handle power grid procedures, substation acceptance and energization for safe power usage
• Prepare electrical work rules, procedures and emergency response plans; maintain electrical documentation
• Conduct inspections, establish repair standards and manage repair projects and cost estimates
• Analyze and resolve electrical outages and participate in accident analysis reports

Job description

• Maintain electrical equipment and facilities in the production workshop, manage spare parts inventory, ensure operational reliability and normal plant production.
• Develop preventive maintenance (PM) plans for electrical equipment, carry out preventive maintenance, and assist the Instrumentation & Electrical Manager in electrical mechanical integrity tasks.
• Provide electrical technical support for capital and modification projects, including review of electrical system designs, equipment selection, installation progress and quality control to meet requirements.
• Supervise and organize installation, commissioning and progress control of electrical equipment; organize on‑site receipt and unpacking inspections of incoming electrical equipment.
• Be familiar with and strictly implement relevant international and national electrical standards and codes.
• Handle external power grid “power application” procedures and substation acceptance and energization to ensure safe power usage.
• Select appropriate system operation modes based on production needs to save power; perform electrical cost accounting and control.
• Prepare electrical work rules, operating procedures and emergency response plans; manage and maintain electrical documentation.
• Conduct electrical inspections according to standards; establish repair standards; prepare inspection and overhaul plans; manage repair projects; prepare material plans and estimate maintenance costs.
• Correctly analyze, judge and handle various unexpected power outage incidents and organize personnel to participate in emergency response drills.
• Inspect and accept safety technical measures for electrical maintenance operations and electrical equipment repair/test work; supervise electrical staff compliance with electrical management regulations.
• Promptly handle or resolve technical problems of electrical equipment that occur during production; participate in technical analysis meetings; compile accident analysis reports and propose feasible solutions for electrical incidents exposed by production.
• Other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Automation, Mechatronics or related discipline
• Junior college degree or above or junior high school graduation, relevant experiences;
• Has the ability to read and write in English/Chinese, and be able to communicate in English/Chinese fluently.
• Familiar with high- and low-voltage distribution systems; proficient in motor control theory; familiar with relevant international and national electrical standards and codes.
• Able to return to site at night or on weekends as required to handle emergency electrical faults.
• Strong problem analysis and solving skills, with a proactive attitude.
• Good communication skills and team spirit.
• Prior extensive electrical maintenance and installation experience in large pharmaceutical, chemical, or power plant industries is preferred.
