Electrical Engineer - Singapore

RED, an expanding international M&E consultancy, has a proven track record in low energy design. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in our Singapore office.

The successful candidate will run small and large projects, take a client‑facing role in the development, design, and coordination of engineering projects, and bring experience in data‑centre delivery as well as commercial, hotel, retail, and hospitality design.

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience working on innovative projects with leading client organisations and contractors, and proactive client‑relationship building will make you an ideal candidate. You should have good commercial awareness, robust technical knowledge of building services design, and the ability to incorporate technologies into the hotel and hospitality sector. The position is best suited to someone currently working in building services consultancy and prepared to work ‘hands‑on’.

Job Description

• Responsible for the running of small projects, researching, developing, designing and assuming responsibility for coordination and monitoring of engineering project services for mechanical or electrical installations, systems, equipment, and facilities.
• Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes.
• Surveys, tests, and reports on existing electrical and mechanical installations.
• Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Represents the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractors.
• Preparation of specification modifications (Word or Excel).
• Ensures engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards.
• Responsible for validation of intermediate and graduate engineer input into designs.

Experiences / Qualifications

• Licensed or degree qualified or equivalent experience with international consulting engineering.
• Working towards or have achieved MCIBSE, MIEE, Professional, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent status.
• Experience of specification design and drawing for at least one building type.
• Sound knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation.
• Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and other software.
• Ability to use IT‑based calculation and spreadsheet software.
• Good understanding of BS SC standards and international design codes and standards.
• Ability to prioritise own workload.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Managerial skills.
• Acts in an ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines.
