Job summary

LONGXIANG BUILDERS PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, coordinate, install and commission electrical systems for construction and industrial projects in Singapore.

You will work with project teams, review drawings and specs, ensure compliance with local codes, supervise site works, and support testing and commissioning to hand over fully functional systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in construction, building services or industrial projects.
• Experience in power distribution, lighting, ELV or other building electrical services is advantageous.
• Experience in Singapore construction projects preferred.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Prior MOE project experience will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for construction and industrial projects, including power distribution, lighting, small power, ELV and other electrical services.
• Prepare and review electrical drawings, technical specifications, calculations and installation plans.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil, structural, mechanical and other project disciplines to ensure proper integration of building services.
• Ensure electrical designs and installations comply with relevant local regulations, codes, standards and project requirements.
• Oversee and monitor the installation of electrical systems to ensure works are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.
• Coordinate with electrical subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and proper execution of works.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor electrical works, workmanship and installation quality.
• Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure they are fully operational and meet the required performance standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues relating to electrical systems during construction.
• Monitor electrical project progress, identify potential delays or issues and assist in implementing appropriate solutions.
• Provide technical support to the project team during the construction and completion stages.
• Ensure electrical installation works are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant safety requirements and risk management procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical drawings, technical submissions, calculations, inspection records and testing and commissioning documents.
• Report the progress of electrical works and highlight technical or site issues to the Project Manager or senior management.
• Assist in ensuring that electrical systems are properly completed and handed over in accordance with project requirements.
