Job summary

Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner (S.E. Asia) Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an Electrical Building Services Engineer to design with minimal supervision in line with local codes and international standards.

You will lead design tasks, coordinate with other disciplines, review on-site works, liaise with authorities, and contribute to project planning, reporting and cost control under the guidance of a Qualified Person. A strong English communicator is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (recognised by Professional Engineers Board; Singapore advantage).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in design and supervision of building service projects (5+ years for senior).
• Experience in consultancy environment.
• Experience leading design management for healthcare, residential, commercial, institutional or hotel projects preferred.
• Familiarity with codes of practice, regulations and authority submission procedures.
• Proficient in engineering software; BIM and Navisworks.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Able to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong delegation and client/team oriented working style.

Responsibilities

• Carry out engineering design with minimal supervision in accordance with local codes or international standards.
• Assume responsibility and undertake engineering tasks of increasing scope and complexity.
• Analyze information, produce design, tenders, proposals and technical reports.
• Assist in coordinating quality assurance and commissioning with other disciplines and consultants.
• Observe, review and report on works on site.
• Handle client liaison and reporting.
• Provide leadership to projects including planning, monitoring, progress and job cost reporting.
• Assist in assessment and review of designs prepared by others for clients.
• Liaise with authorities on plans submission and compliance.
• To work with the Qualified Person (QP) to develop electrical building services designs and calculations.
