Job summary

POWERCHINA (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking an Electrical and Instrument Inspector to ensure electrical installations comply with Singapore codes and safety standards during power-plant construction.

You will perform daily E&I inspections per ITPs, read blueprints, review reports, and coordinate with subcontractors and project owners to enforce compliance. The role requires attention to detail and willingness to work overtime on site at Jurong Island.

Job Summary

Ensure electrical installations comply with Singapore electrical codes, safety standards, and contractual requirements during power-plant building stages through detailed inspections and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and installations to verify compliance with safety regulations and Singapore electrical codes.
• Perform daily Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) inspections according to Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure installation works meet project technical specifications and local standards.
• Review and analyze inspection reports, documenting findings and specifying necessary corrective actions.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and project owners to enforce compliance with electrical standards and safety requirements.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to verify completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Investigate electrical complaints, accidents, and hazardous conditions to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records and prepare reports for project documentation and compliance verification.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to guide inspection activities.
• Utilize inspection tools, electrical testing devices, and relevant software proficiently to conduct thorough assessments.

Required competencies and certifications

• Thorough knowledge of Singapore's local electrical codes.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety regulations.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical inspection and electrical installation.
• Prior experience working on SP Group projects or power-plant construction inspections in Singapore.
• ATEX or IECEx certification.
• Familiarity with EMA Regulatory-Transmission Code.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Other Information

• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including construction sites.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
