Job summary

Pfizer Singapore is seeking a proactive Fire Safety Manager to lead and drive Fire Safety, Emergency Management, BCM and Security Management Systems for the site expansion. You will provide technical EHS guidance to ensure regulatory compliance and operational readiness, supporting API plant operations and capital projects.

The role includes driving audits, incident investigations, training of incident commanders, and coordination with regulatory bodies to uphold Pfizer EHS standards and site

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science or Technology, and Fire Safety Engineering is advantageous.
• At least 7 years supervisory or leading role in safety or fire emergency organization; experience in pharmaceutical industry and/or petrochemical / chemicals manufacturing industry is advantageous.
• Good knowledge and application of relevant regulatory laws and regulations, codes of practice, and/or National Fire Code is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Organize and train Shift Site Incident Commanders & Shift Emergency Response Teams (SERTs) and contract security personnel, and conduct performance management review with his/her direct reports (e.g. Contract Shift Security Officers).
• Ensure business activities are in compliance with all applicable WSH regulation, local fire safety, loss prevention and security laws & regulations, and Pfizer EHS and Global Security Standards and update changes regarding the regulatory permits/licenses.
• Perform the role and duties and responsibilities of ‘Fire Safety Manager’ as stipulated in the Fire Safety Act.
• Ensure the operational readiness of fire protection, fire alarm, public address and security surveillance systems in terms of preventive maintenance and performance monitoring and testing.
• Manage the contractor safety program like contractor pre-qualification, contractor safety induction, contractor safety committee, etc
• Establish and implement Physical Security Management System and Loss Prevention and Emergency Response programs, and develop performance metrics to achieve continuous improvement.
• Lead near-miss incident/accident investigations related to operational/personnel safety, security, fire safety, emergency response and contractor safety & health matters, and implement preventive and corrective measures to prevent a recurrence.
• Set up site emergency response training, drills and tabletop exercises for site emergency management team, shift emergency response teams, colleagues and contractors.
• Drive operational safety, contractor safety, fire safety and physical security internal audit program to assess the health of these systems, and make appropriate improvement to achieve its process robustness.
• Lead business continuity management (BCM) program and conduct regular exercises to verify the effectiveness of the program.
