Job Description (Responsibilities)

A Landscape Drafter is primarily responsible for translating landscape design concepts into precise, technical drawings that can be used for construction. Key duties include:

• Technical Drawing & Drafting: Creating detailed landscape construction drawings, including site plans, grading plans, planting plans, hardscape details, and cross-sections using CAD software.
• Design Deepening: Taking preliminary or conceptual designs and developing them into detailed construction documents, ensuring all dimensions, materials, and construction methods are accurately specified.
• Cross-disciplinary Coordination: Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) professionals to ensure landscape drawings integrate seamlessly with other project disciplines and to resolve any spatial conflicts.
• Construction Support: Participating in construction drawing handovers (technical briefings) for contractors, answering on-site technical questions, and preparing design change documents or site instructions as needed.
• Standards Compliance: Ensuring all drafted drawings strictly adhere to national and local landscape construction standards, drawing conventions, and building codes.116
