Job summary

SAA Architects, part of Surbana Jurong Group, invites applications for Director, Transport in Singapore. You will lead the transport team, shape strategy for rail and related infrastructure, and drive major projects with a focus on client engagement, design direction and financial performance.

The role requires senior leadership, deep rail/transit sector experience and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through complex environments while maintaining design excellence and compliance

Qualifications

At least 20 years of relevant architectural experience with rail/transport focus.
Registered Architect or equivalent preferred.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture; advanced design/project management credentials advantageous.
Strong knowledge of design-to-construction processes and authority requirements.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across complex projects.

Responsibilities

Set vision and strategy for the transport architecture practice and drive growth.
Identify and secure major transport and rail projects and lead bids.
Engage senior clients, authorities and partners; represent the firm in meetings and forums.
Oversee delivery from feasibility to close-out, ensuring quality, budget and schedule.
Provide design and technical leadership on station planning, accessibility and safety.
Coordinate across architecture, engineering, MEP, structure, landscape and planning teams.
Lead fee proposals, budgets, resource plans and risk management.
Build and mentor a high-performing transport team and develop future leaders.
Navigate stakeholder environments and maintain design integrity and compliance.
