Job summary

TGS International Group is seeking an experienced Operations Director based in Singapore to lead the APAC data centre delivery and regional operations. You will oversee a Singapore team of about 20 and drive expansion across the region, ensuring high-quality project execution from tender to handover.

The role requires senior leadership across complex data centre environments, with a focus on delivering on time, within budget, and to the highest HSE and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Significant senior operations or project delivery leadership within the data centre sector.
• Experience in design-and-build, fit-out, MEP, or mission-critical environments is highly relevant.

• Strong knowledge of the APAC market and regional labour, subcontractors, supply chains and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior operational leadership across data centre projects throughout the APAC region.
• Work with regional and global leadership to set priorities, delivery strategy and objectives.
• Develop and expand APAC operations with proper structure and succession planning.
• Oversee project delivery from tender and mobilisation through construction, completion and handover.
• Lead coordination of PM, engineering, procurement, logistics, HSE, quality and site operations.
• Ensure resources meet programme commitments including labour, subcontractors and materials.
• Monitor budgets, forecasting, margins, risk and cash flow across projects.
• Establish project controls and KPI-based reporting to identify issues early.
• Build strong relationships with customers and escalate delivery issues when needed.
• Promote governance, quality, HSE standards and continuous improvement across APAC.
• Strengthen regional supply chain and subcontractor relationships for capacity.

Package: Up to SGD 30,000 per month (£200,000 per annum)

The Opportunity

We are working with an established international data centre solutions business that is looking to strengthen its APAC leadership team with the appointment of an Operations Director based in Singapore.

The organisation provides end-to-end solutions to major data centre operators, covering areas such as design, equipment supply, construction, installation and ongoing technical services across international markets.

This is a senior regional position with responsibility for the operational performance and development of the APAC business. The successful individual will lead an established Singapore operation of around 20 employees, while also helping expand the wider regional team and delivery capability in line with a growing project pipeline.

The Role

• Provide senior operational leadership across data centre projects throughout the APAC region.
• Work closely with regional and global leadership to establish priorities, delivery strategy and operational objectives.
• Develop and expand the APAC operations function, ensuring the right organisational structure, leadership capability and succession planning are in place.
• Take overall responsibility for project delivery from tender and mobilisation through construction, completion and client handover.
• Lead and coordinate functions including project management, engineering, procurement, logistics, HSE, quality and site operations.
• Ensure projects have the appropriate labour, subcontractor, materials, equipment and management resources to meet programme commitments.
• Maintain oversight of operational and financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, margins, productivity, variations, risk and cash flow.
• Establish strong project controls and performance reporting, using relevant KPIs and forecasting to identify issues early and drive corrective action.
• Develop senior relationships with key customers and provide leadership when significant project or delivery issues require escalation.
• Promote consistent operating procedures, governance, quality standards, HSE performance and continuous improvement across the APAC portfolio.
• Strengthen the regional supply chain, including subcontractor relationships, resource planning and future operational capacity.
• Support the business in preparing for continued growth across the APAC data centre market.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate is likely to bring:

• Significant senior operations or project delivery leadership experience within the data centre sector.
• Experience across complex design-and-build, fit-out, MEP, connectivity or other mission-critical environments would be highly relevant.
• A background managing multiple projects, locations, countries or business units, rather than responsibility for a single construction site.
• Strong knowledge of the APAC market and the practical challenges associated with regional labour, subcontractors, supply chains and customer relationships.
• A proven ability to recruit, develop and retain high-performing operational teams, including senior project management and site leadership personnel.
• Strong commercial understanding, with experience across project profitability, forecasting, cost management, change, risk and overall operational performance.
• The confidence and credibility to deal directly with senior customers and executive stakeholders, particularly when resolving complex delivery challenges.
• A strong understanding of HSE, quality, governance and project controls within high-availability or mission-critical construction environments.
• The ability to operate within a multinational organisation and communicate effectively with both regional and global leadership.
• Singapore-based candidates are preferred, although strong APAC-based candidates who are prepared to relocate will also be considered.

Package & Location

• Up to SGD 30,000 per month, dependent on experience and track record.
• Permanent senior leadership position based in Singapore.
• Relocation assistance may be available for an exceptional candidate relocating to Singapore, potentially including initial accommodation and flights.
• Regular travel throughout APAC should be expected as the regional portfolio continues to expand.
