Position Overview:

Hysses Singapore is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and forward-thinking Assistant / Design Manager to lead and elevate our brand’s visual and product innovation. In this role, you will oversee the full spectrum of design activities, from conceptualisation and product development to packaging design, POSM creation, and visual merchandising support. You will guide a team of designers, collaborate closely with marketing teams, and manage design projects from concept to production, ensuring alignment with brand standards and market trends. This position also involves liaising with suppliers and manufacturers, developing prototypes, enhancing existing product lines, and contributing to engaging content for digital and retail platforms. Jobs Descriptions:
  • Lead the design team across the full spectrum of creative and product development activities.
  • Develop creative concepts, graphics, layouts, and packaging for aromatherapy, skincare, and gift products.
  • Research, conceptualise, and produce new product ranges and enhancements within project timelines.
  • Create prototypes, prepare drafts, conduct basic user feedback, and refine designs for approval.
  • Liaise with local and overseas suppliers to ensure prototypes meet design requirements.
  • Work closely with Marketing on visual merchandising, creative props, and point-of-sale materials.
  • Produce and manage marketing communications, including social media content, articles, videos, and digital assets.
  • Support brand awareness efforts across digital platforms (website, Facebook, Instagram).
  • Coordinate and optimise marketing and communication initiatives across print and digital channels.
  • Manage vendors, and oversee production processes to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Ensure all design outputs comply with brand guidelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform store visits for VM checks, implementations during festive season.
  • Carry out any other assigned duties.
Professional Qualifications & Experience:
  • Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in design, product development, or creative/marketing roles; at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead position preferred.
  • Experience in cosmetic, beauty, skincare, aromatherapy, lifestyle or retail industries is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end product development, from concept to prototype to production.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design creativity, product design skills, packaging design, and marketing visuals.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and familiarity with 3D or prototype tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Blender) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging design, material selection, and production processes.
  • Experience with visual merchandising concepts and POSM design.
  • Ability to create digital marketing content (articles, visuals, videos).
  • Knowledge of social media management (Facebook, Instagram) and digital communications.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS).
Leadership & Project Management Skills
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a design team with strong creativity and alignment to goals.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of planning, coordinating, and executing design and marketing projects on time.
  • Experienced in liaising with local and overseas factories, suppliers, and printers.
  • High sense of ownership and accountability in delivering prototypes, final artwork, and production-ready designs.
  • Skilled in gathering feedback, conducting simple surveys, and refining design concepts accordingly.
