Job summary

JDA WMS Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop mechanical and hydraulic systems in line with industry standards for heavy equipment projects. You will design, size, select and integrate components, and deliver detailed drawings and BOMs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or related field, experience with 3D CAD, and familiarity with steel fabrication. On-site testing and collaboration with Sales, After-Sales and Production are key parts of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience in designing machinery and hydraulic systems in heavy industry.
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools and engineering calculations.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication and machining is a plus.

• Size, select, and integrate structural steel components with mechanical and hydraulic parts.
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, and manuals for operations and maintenance.
• Conduct functional testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning at factory and on-site.
• Provide technical guidance to Sales, After-Sales, and Production; deliver user training.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design mechanical and hydraulic systems in line with industry standards, engineering best practices, and project/contract specifications
• Handle sizing, selection, and integration of structural steel components along with mechanical and hydraulic parts
• Prepare mechanical and hydraulic system drawings, bills of materials, and related project documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals
• Conduct functional testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities both at the factory and on-site at container terminals
• Offer technical guidance to Sales, After-Sales, and Production teams, and deliver user training sessions as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics , or a related field
• Background in designing machinery, mechanisms, components, and hydraulic systems - experience within heavy industry sectors (e.g., cranes, construction equipment) is a plus
• Proficient in 3D CAD tools, with the capability to perform engineering calculations and analyses per relevant industry standards
• Familiarity with steel fabrication and machining techniques is advantageous
• Prior exposure to design configuration, component selection, testing, and troubleshooting is preferred
