As part of UOBKH’s continued expansion in structured and bespoke financing, the Regional Credit Department is seeking a senior credit professional to join as Deputy Head of Regional Credit.

This role is designed for a hands‑on credit leader who will work closely with the Head of Regional Credit and a team of credit analysts, contributing to credit evaluation, deal structuring, approvals, portfolio oversight and team leadership.

The position offers rare exposure to complex, high‑value structured lending transactions across multiple jurisdictions and industries in Asia Pacific, with direct engagement with senior management.

Who Are We Looking For?
  • Vice President / Senior Vice President level, with minimum 10 years of hands‑on credit and lending experience (candidates with more experience are welcomed).
  • Robust expertise in accounting concepts and credit analysis, with the ability to assess the impact of different accounting standards on credit risk.
  • Proven experience in structuring and evaluating complex credit transactions, including collateralised and bespoke financings.
  • Sound working knowledge of loan documentation and security structures across Greater China and ASEAN jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate independent credit assessments and propose constructive and practical measures to mitigate risks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate credit views clearly and confidently to the credit committee.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, fluid and cross‑cultural regional environment.
  • Able to engage client‑facing colleagues in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Experienced in guiding and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:

Credit Structuring & Transaction Execution

  • Act as a credible structuring partner to client‑facing colleagues in evaluating, structuring and negotiating bankable financing solutions.
  • Lead and review in‑depth credit analysis across multiple industries and jurisdictions, including assessment of financial statements, cash flows, collateral, valuation and risk mitigants.
  • Provide clear, concise and well‑reasoned credit recommendations for credit committee approvals.
  • Draft, review and negotiate term sheets, letters of offer, facility agreement and security documents, ensuring alignment with UOBKH’s risk appetite, policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Act as a deputy to the Head of Regional Credit, stepping in when required to ensure continuity of decision‑making and execution.
  • Coach, mentor and review the work of junior team members, ensuring high‑quality credit output.
  • Contribute to the development of credit frameworks, templates and best practices within the department.

Portfolio Oversight & Monitoring

  • Assist in ongoing portfolio monitoring, including covenant compliance, collateral adequacy and early risk identification.
  • Review and monitor existing complex or higher‑risk transactions and provide independent, practical mitigation measures.

Stakeholder & Project Support

  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Operations, Finance and external advisers across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support ad‑hoc projects and strategic initiatives as directed by the Head of Regional Credit.
