Job description

What the role is

The TDE team develops strategies and policies to build a strong and future-ready Singaporean workforce for the financial sector. We develop the pipeline of job-ready graduates and specialist talent, equip the existing workforce to meet changing job and skill needs, and create opportunities for more Singaporeans to gain international exposure and progress into leadership roles in global financial institutions. We use data and industry insights to anticipate shifts in jobs and skills needs, and translate these into policies and interventions. We work closely with financial institutions, the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF), other government agencies, the labour movement and training partners to translate workforce strategies into action.

As a member of the team, you will:

  • Develop manpower strategies and policies for the financial sector, drawing on workforce data, research and engagement with industry and other key stakeholders to identify emerging needs, trends and priorities.
  • Develop programmes and initiatives to translate these strategies and policies into action. This may include the design and implementation of funding schemes and other sector-wide interventions, as well as contributing to economy-wide workforce initiatives.
  • Engage financial institutions and key partners to understand workforce needs, trends, challenges and priorities. You will work closely with IBF, MAS’ strategic partner on jobs and skills development for the financial sector, on industry sense-making, developing solutions, and driving industry participation.
  • Shape communications and stakeholder engagement on local financial sector workforce issues, including outreach and engagement to amplify MAS’ manpower messages and support the roll-out of new programmes and initiatives.
