Job summary

Hi5 Consulting Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced IT professional to support DB2 databases and mainframe environments in Singapore. You will review and optimize queries, help design tables, indexes, and relationships, and troubleshoot data integrity and performance issues.

The role covers supporting changes across DEV/TEST/UAT/PROD, monitoring performance, and providing guidance on best practices. Strong English communication and flexibility to work outside standard hours are required.

Qualifications

A strong IT background in computing is required.
5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Experience with JCL, VSAM, and mainframe DB2 is advantageous.
Good communication and English skills are essential.
Ability to work after hours including weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

Review and optimize SQL queries written by developers for performance and standards.
Assist in database design: tables, indexes, relationships for new features.
Troubleshoot DB issues: SQL errors, performance, data integrity.
Support lifecycle changes and migrations across DEV/TEST/UAT/PROD.
Monitor database performance and apply tuning: reorganize spaces, stats.
Provide DB2 best practices and coding guidance to developers.
Support testing with data refreshes, test data prep, validation.
