Job summary

Encora is hiring a DB2 DBA in Singapore to support application databases and mainframe environments. You will review and optimise SQL queries, assist in designing table structures and indexes, and troubleshoot issues across DEV/TEST/UAT/PROD lifecycles.

You will guide developers on DB2 best practices and assist with data refreshes and test data preparation. The role emphasizes performance tuning, database migrations, and ensuring data integrity while applying standardised procedures across

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/CS or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in DB2 and mainframe environments is preferred.
Experience with JCL, VSAM and DB2 backup/recovery procedures is advantageous.
Familiarity with database utilities and tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

Reviewing and optimising SQL queries to ensure performance and standards.
Assist in database design including tables, indexes, and relationships for new features.
Troubleshooting database issues including SQL errors, performance, and data integrity.
Support database changes through development lifecycle and coordinate migrations.
Monitor database performance and apply tuning measures such as stats updates and buffer pool adjustments.
Provide guidance on DB2 best practices and coding standards to developers.
Support testing activities with data refresh, test data preparation, and test case validation.
