Job summary

The Internal Security Department (ISD) in Singapore is seeking a role focused on managing data infrastructure to support analytics using SQL and Big Data technologies. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts and developers to optimize data platforms, improve performance, availability and security, and contribute to the lifecycle of data transformation.

Applicants with no experience may apply; strong analytical skills and teamwork are valued, and Singaporean candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

For over 70 years, ISD and its predecessor organisations have played a central role in countering threats such as those posed by foreign subversive elements, spies, racial and religious extremists, and terrorists. What you will be working on:

• Manage the data infrastructure to support data analytics on SQL and Big Data technologies
• Research, Evaluate and Implement solutions to enhance performance, availability and security of data platforms
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts and Developers to optimise using data advance technologies.

What we are looking for:

• Applicants with no experience may apply.
• Experience using common scripting languages like SQL or Powershell will be preferred.
• Knowledge in technologies like Hadoop/Hive/HBase/RDBMS will be advantageous
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and able to solve or analyse problems in a systematic manner
• Able to work both independently and in a team
