Job summary

AVENSYS CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is hiring a Data Migration Specialist to lead end-to-end data migration efforts across multiple client environments in Singapore. The role emphasizes data analysis, mapping, and ETL execution to ensure accurate and timely migrations.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, define transformation rules, and drive quality data through validation and testing activities, with a focus on impact assessment and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or related roles.
• Experience delivering large-scale data migration or transformation projects.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with ETL tools.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data, including data validation.
• Cloud exposure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Shell).
• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Migration Planning

• Define end-to-end data migration strategy and execution approach.
• Perform source system analysis and data discovery.
• Develop migration plans, timelines, and cutover activities.
• Assess migration risks and mitigation strategies.

Data Analysis & Mapping

• Analyse source and target data models.
• Define field-level data mappings and transformation rules.
• Identify data cleansing requirements.
• Validate business rules with functional stakeholders.

Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL)

• Develop and execute ETL processes.
• Extract data from multiple source systems.
• Transform data according to business requirements.
• Load data into target applications.
• Monitor migration performance and resolve failures.

Data Quality

• Perform data profiling and quality assessment.
• Identify duplicate, incomplete, or inconsistent data.
• Execute cleansing and enrichment activities.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards.

Testing & Validation

• Support SIT, UAT, and production rehearsals.
• Perform reconciliation between source and target systems.
• Validate migrated data with business users.
• Resolve migration defects.

Cutover & Deployment

• Execute production migration activities.
• Support mock migrations and dress rehearsals.
• Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams.
• Support hypercare after go-live.

Documentation

• Prepare migration runbooks.
• Maintain mapping documents.
• Document migration procedures.
• Produce reconciliation reports.
• Maintain audit evidence.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or related roles.
• Experience delivering large-scale data migration or transformation projects.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with ETL tools.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data, including data validation and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or DB2.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell.
• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall delivery environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
