Job summary

Temasek is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to help build data foundations powering AI solutions. You will work with data and AI engineers across structured and unstructured data, contributing to data pipelines, data quality initiatives and dashboards that inform business decisions.

You will learn how data is collected, transformed and prepared for AI-ready analysis in a global investment environment, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to cloud, big data, and visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Data processing experience in SQL and knowledge of database principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with software design concepts, security, performance and TDD.
• Interest in learning new data systems and technologies.
• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS is preferred.
• Experience with big data frameworks like Airflow and Spark is desired.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and version control (Git/Bitbucket) is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Qlik is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development and maintenance of data pipelines using cloud and big data technologies.
• Assist in monitoring, scheduling and troubleshooting data processing jobs in cloud environments.
• Participate in testing, deployment and validation of data applications for data quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and develop dashboards and reports for decision-making.
• Support data quality, documentation and process improvements to make data AI-ready.
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets to gain hands-on experience in data engineering and AI-driven data solutions.
• Contribute to team discussions, planning and knowledge sharing while learning best practices in data and AI engineering.
