is seeking an IT infrastructure professional to support data centre operations, critical infrastructure, IT operations, security and compliance activities for an enterprise technology environment. The successful candidate will handle day-to-day operational activities, monitor infrastructure and facility conditions, coordinate maintenance, assist with incident and change management, and maintain accurate infrastructure records.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in IT, CS, Engineering or related discipline with good grounding in IT infrastructure principles.
• Experience in IT operations, data centre operations or technical environments is preferred.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure systems and operational processes is expected.
• Familiarity with incident, change, backup and disaster recovery processes.

Responsibilities

• Data Centre & Infrastructure Operations: manage day-to-day operation and maintenance of data centre facilities and critical infrastructure.
• Security & Compliance: support physical security operations, access management and records.
• IT Operations: monitor system availability, perform basic troubleshooting, support backup and DR activities.
• Documentation & Reporting: maintain asset inventories and records, prepare routine reports.

Job description

We are seeking an IT infrastructure professional to support data centre operations, critical infrastructure, IT operations, security and compliance activities for an enterprise technology environment.

The successful candidate will support day-to-day operational activities, monitor infrastructure and facility conditions, coordinate maintenance activities, assist with incident and change management, and maintain accurate infrastructure and operational records.

The role may require shift work and support during operational emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

Data Centre & Infrastructure Operations

• Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of data centre facilities and critical infrastructure.
• Monitor environmental, facility and equipment conditions to support operational continuity.
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities, equipment installations and vendor support.
• Support the management and organisation of infrastructure assets, cabling and equipment.
• Perform routine operational checks and elevate abnormalities or issues appropriately.
• Support infrastructure-related activities in accordance with established operational procedures.

Security & Compliance

• Support physical security operations, including access management and monitoring systems.
• Assist with visitor coordination and maintenance of security and access records.
• Support compliance activities and operational security procedures.
• Identify and report operational, security and facility-related incidents.
• Follow established security, safety and operational policies.

IT Operations

• Monitor system availability, infrastructure performance and operational alerts.
• Perform basic infrastructure troubleshooting and administration tasks.
• Support backup and disaster recovery activities.
• Assist with incident, change and access management processes.
• Support routine security monitoring and operational checks.
• Escalate complex technical or operational issues to the appropriate support teams.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain infrastructure asset inventories and operational records.
• Maintain data centre, equipment and infrastructure documentation.
• Record incidents, maintenance activities and operational events.
• Prepare routine operational and infrastructure reports.
• Ensure documentation and records remain accurate and up to date.

Key Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in IT operations, infrastructure support, data centre operations or a technical environment.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure systems and operational processes.
• Basic understanding of security, compliance and access-management practices.
• Familiarity with incident, change, backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with internal teams, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Willingness to support shift work and operational emergencies when required.

Preferred Qualifications / Certifications

• ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
• Data Centre Operations or Infrastructure-related certification.
• Basic Systems, Networking or Cloud certification.
• Relevant security or compliance certification.
