Job summary

Wesco in Singapore is seeking a Technician - Data Center to perform assigned tasks in a data center, including server and network devices setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will handle setup, operation, and housekeeping at project locations, ensuring uptime and reliability.

The role requires hands-on data center experience, a High School degree or equivalent (Bachelor's preferred), and CCNA/CCNP designations are a plus.

Qualifications

• Fluent English is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel 0–25% are expected.
• Experience in field service or data center environments is preferred.
• Data center best practices knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly sweeps of server and storage equipment in the data center, detecting hardware and network connectivity issues; collect and analyze ipmi-sel data and vendor-specific platform management logs.
• Diagnose server and storage equipment connectivity issues, including basic troubleshooting of network transceiver and optical fiber signal strength problems, using data center tools and procedures.
• Engage vendor support organizations (HPE, Dell, IX, etc.) by opening cases and following up on hardware fixes and investigations.
• Collaborate with the data center operations team to manage break-and-fix logistics, escort vendor contractors for repairs, and ensure adherence to operations.
