Nxera, a data centre operator, seeks a Data Centre Mechanical Subject Matter Expert to lead mechanical design, calculations and equipment selection for new and existing facilities in Asia Pacific. You’ll coordinate with consultants and internal teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, high-availability infrastructure.

The role requires a 10+ year track record in data center mechanical systems, strong thermodynamics and fluid dynamics knowledge, and willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Mechanical PE licensure is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and maintaining mechanical systems for data centers or similar critical facilities.
• Knowledge of large-scale mechanical infrastructure systems for mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with fast-track design/build projects or multiple significant upgrade projects.
• Fundamental knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles, fire protection and plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Ability to incorporate Renewable Energy Systems into the distribution network and strong understanding of mechanical codes and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong oral, written communication and presentation skills.
• Positive working attitude, ability to work independently and as a team.
• Ability to lead a team of engineers and consultants.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Willingness to travel to Malaysia and other Asia Pacific regions.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop Mechanical systems for data centers, including ACMV, Hydraulic, Fire Protection, and Plumbing systems.
• Perform engineering calculations (cooling load, hydraulic) and equipment sizing/selection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for BOD, feasibility, concept, and IFC documents for new builds and upgrades.
• Act as SME to work with consultants during concept and detailed design, procurement, SAT, and site delivery.
• Review and update design specifications, drawings, and standards; ensure safety and compliance.
• Engage stakeholders to translate requirements into executable implementation plans.
