Job summary

Portcast is seeking a Data Analyst to join a high-performing, remote-first team focused on predictive analytics for logistics. You will ensure data quality, chase anomalies to root causes, and convert insights into actionable improvements across product and commercial teams.

Reporting to the Analytics Manager, you’ll build reusable data pipelines in Python and SQL, automate reports, and collaborate with Data Science and Engineering to enhance model accuracy and explainability for customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field.
• 2+ years in a Data Analyst or Business Analyst role, preferably in a product-based, lean startup in logistics/ecommerce/B2B SaaS.
• Exceptional Python and SQL skills with reusable, scalable code.
• Strong attention to detail; identify anomalies before customers.
• Curious, methodical thinker who explains decisions and trade-offs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Documentation, reporting, and root-cause analysis of prediction issues end-to-end.
• Analyze ingested and system-generated data for anomalies and gaps from various sources.
• Turn data into stories; propose fixes and own execution.
• Automate performance/accuracy reviews, reports, and visualizations with Python and SQL.
• Support Engineering and Data Science on system data fixes and feature improvements.
• Support Customer Ops and Marketing with insights on performance, accuracy and real-time events.
• Maintain internal and customer dashboards based on trial/account requirements.
