Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; graduate degree a plus

Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and test data pipelines and content issues
• Support data quality and delivery for credit risk models and data pipelines
• Respond to client data queries with timely, accurate resolutions
• Monitor data delivery and pipeline status with the Data Quality team
• Collaborate with Research, Engineering, Quality, and Product teams on data projects
• Analyze data using statistical methods and relational databases; produce BI reports
• Identify opportunities to automate data delivery processes and document workflows

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in SQL and database management tools such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL, with experience in data modeling and query optimization preferred
• Proficiency with a scripting language such as Python; experience in a statistical package such as R is preferred
• Experience working with cloud platforms, including AWS services such as Athena, S3, and Glue jobs; exposure to ETL tools such as Airflow, SSIS, or AWS Step Functions is preferred
• Ability to understand and analyze financial statement data, fixed income data, macro-economic statistics, and credit risk measures; ability to understand basics from credit risk model research papers and data specifications
• Superb analytical skills, persistence in problem solving, and excellence in data mining and code debugging, with the ability to learn quickly and independently
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines; excellent written and oral professional communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel; exposure to third-party Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or AWS QuickSight is preferred
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency.Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Operations, Engineering, or a related field
• Graduate degree and/or 1-2 years of relevant work experience is a plus

Responsibilities

The Data Quality Analyst investigates, troubleshoots, and tests data pipeline and content issues to ensure accurate, timely data delivery across multiple client-facing platforms and products.

• Support and resolve data quality and delivery issues related to complex credit risk models and data pipelines with accuracy and in a timely manner
• Fulfill data delivery and data requests for existing and prospective clients accurately and in accordance with established deadlines
• Respond to client data queries in a timely and accurate manner, and engage in collaborative problem solving with Customer Success and Client Support teams to ensure resolution
• Support Data Engineering and Data Quality teams in monitoring data delivery and pipeline status, communicating and resolving issues proactively
• Collaborate with Research, Engineering, Quality, and Product teams on data projects, including testing and specifications development
• Analyze and resolve data issues from external data providers, including exploration and evaluation of new data sources
• Perform data analysis using a variety of methods including statistical techniques and relational databases; produce Business Intelligence reports that describe data characteristics and highlight trends and issues
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve data inquiry and delivery processes through automation or other means, and contribute to documentation of processes and projects

Our Data Quality and Analytics team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of complex financial data across Moody's product ecosystem, including credit analytics platforms, asset management solutions, and data estate products. We partner directly with Client Support, Customer Success, Sales, and Product teams to deliver a seamless and reliable data experience for clients globally. By joining our team, you will play a vital role in expanding Moody's coverage across the Asia and EMEA regions, reducing response lag for clients in those markets, and contributing to the continuous improvement of data delivery practices.
