Job summary

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in Singapore invites applications for a Programmer (Dance) within the Programming department. The role involves curating and managing dance programmes, coordinating with artists and managers, and ensuring productions align with Esplanade’s seasonal calendar.

Qualifications

• Degree holder, or training from a recognised institution in arts management, in dance studies or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Some form of training in the arts including dance will be an advantage.
• Minimum 3–8 years of relevant experience in performing arts programmes is required.
• Good knowledge of leading international developments and trends in various dance forms is advantageous.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills; able to work comfortably in large teams.
• Ability to successfully conceptualise and realise projects.

Responsibilities

• Curate, plan, manage and execute arts programmes and seasons as part of Esplanade’s calendar of festivals, series and projects.
• Negotiate with artists and managers; main Esplanade contact for planning and execution.
• Coordinate with Marketing & Development for publicity and sponsorships to maximise ticket sales and revenue.
• Liaise with Operations such as Technical Production and Logistics for smooth execution.
• Supervise artist liaison officers, project assistants and interns on assigned projects.
• Stay updated on trends in performing arts locally and internationally.
