Job summary

ST Engineering Info-Security Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Cyber Range Test Engineer to support development, automation, deployment, and validation of cyber range environments used for cybersecurity training and simulations.

You will work with Linux/Windows VMs, automation using Ansible and Terraform, and contribute to testing, validation, and continuous improvement of cyber range platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux and Windows environments.
• Scripting with Bash, PowerShell or Python.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Understanding IT infrastructure, networking, virtualization and system administration.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and maintaining cyber campaign network infrastructure using Ansible Playbooks and Terraform.
• Build, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows VM templates for Cyber Range exercises.
• Validate deployment and automation workflows from campaign design through provisioning and deployment.
• Verify functionality, usability and readiness of deployed cyber campaign environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment and automation issues.
• Support maintenance and enhancement of Cyber Range platforms and supporting infrastructure.

Position Summary

The Cyber Range Test Engineer supports the development, automation, deployment, and validation of cyber range environments used for cybersecurity training, exercises, and simulation activities. The role involves building and maintaining virtualized Linux and Windows environments, supporting infrastructure automation using tools such as Ansible and Terraform, executing testing and validation activities, and troubleshooting deployment and operational issues. Working closely with engineering teams, the engineer will ensure the reliability, functionality, and readiness of cyber range platforms through infrastructure management, system testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role is well suited for individuals with an interest in infrastructure automation, virtualization, cybersecurity, and emerging IT/OT technologies, including entry level candidates with relevant academic, internship, or project experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

Cyber Range Infrastructure & Automation

• Assist in creating and maintaining cyber campaign network infrastructure using Ansible Playbooks and Terraform.
• Build, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows virtual machine templates used for Cyber Range exercises.
• Validate deployment and automation workflows from campaign design through Cyber Range portal provisioning and network deployment.
• Verify functionality, usability, and readiness of deployed cyber campaign environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and automation-related issues.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of Cyber Range platforms and supporting infrastructure.

Testing & Validation

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and validation procedures for Cyber Range deployments and applications.
• Conduct system testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Track, reproduce, and verify defects, issues, and change requests.
• Validate deployed environments against technical and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure solution quality and reliability.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Basic understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and system administration concepts.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper‑V, or Proxmox.
• Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments and industrial systems.
• Exposure to web technologies such as ReactJS, NextJS, or NodeJS.
• Interest in cybersecurity, cyber range environments, infrastructure automation, and emerging technologies.
