Job summary

Maverick Derivatives seeks a Crypto Options Trader for its Singapore desk. You will execute trades, support research and automation, and help design strategies under senior traders. After a 3‑month training in Amsterdam, you’ll join the team in Singapore.

The role emphasizes quantitative work, Python/SQL proficiency, and a proactive, collaborative mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in a quantitative/analytical field.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for automation and data analysis.
• Experience tackling end-to-end coding or ML projects.
• Strong quantitative/analytical skills and ability to make fast decisions.
• Available for a 3-month training in Amsterdam before joining in Singapore.

Responsibilities

Crypto Options Trader – Singapore

Founded in 2017, Maverick Derivatives is a proprietary trading firm headquartered in Amsterdam, with a second office in Singapore. We specialise in U.S. Equity Options, Crypto Options, and Delta One products, trading primarily on U.S. markets and crypto exchanges.

Responsibilities

• Execute trades on our Crypto Options desk and gain hands-on trading experience under the supervision of senior traders;
• Stay ahead of market changes, regulations, and industry developments;
• Support the trading desk with research, modelling, and automation projects;
• Assist in designing, testing, and implementing trading strategies across various markets;
• Over time, take ownership of your own trading decisions.

What we are looking for

• A Bachelor’s or higher degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, or similar);
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for automation and data analysis purposes;
• Experience tackling coding or machine learning projects from start to finish;
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to make fast and confident decisions under pressure;
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a competitive drive and attention to detail;
• Clear communicator with a collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills;
• Availability for a 3-month training in our Amsterdam office before joining the team in Singapore.

Nice to have:

• You are already located in Singapore and are Singaporean or hold the Permanent Resident status;
• Some experience in an Options trading role, preferably in Crypto Options trading;
• Familiarity with Git.

The Interview Process

• Aptitude Assessment (Duration: 60 minutes)
• Introductory Interview (Duration: 30 minutes);
