Job summary

Optiver is building out its Digital Assets desk in Singapore to run a 24/7 global trading operation. You will own the Asia session as the on-the-ground trader, pricing, quoting and managing the crypto options book with independent execution and overnight London oversight.

You will work at the intersection of trading, research and engineering, applying Optiver's automated, risk-led approach to options market making with a distributed Singapore-London team.

Qualifications

• Typically 3–4 years of options trading experience at a proprietary trading firm, market maker or bank.
• Strong grounding in options pricing, volatility and risk management.
• Exposure to automated/systematic market making is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Optiver is building out its Digital Assets desk into a 24/7 global trading business, and we are hiring an options trader in Singapore to run our Asia session. Our London team covers the EU and US sessions; you will be the on-the-ground trader for Asia, pricing, quoting and managing the crypto options book through your session, operating with a high degree of independence but with overnight oversight and support from the senior London desk. This is a rare chance to join a new desk early, take real ownership of a trading session from day one, and grow your career as the business scales across products and the region. You will work at the intersection of trading, quantitative research and engineering, learning and applying Optiver's highly automated, risk-led approach to options market making.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Trading & Execution

• Manage the crypto options book during the Asia session (quoting, pricing, hedging and execution), operating independently within clearly defined risk limits and strategy set by the desk
• Run and scale automated options market-making strategies across major crypto venues
• Manage delta and vega risk through the session, and ensure clean position/PnL handover to London at session boundaries
• Monitor liquidity, volatility and market-structure developments across Asian hours and adapt accordingly

Risk & Process

• Trade within the desk's risk frameworks and limit structures, escalating to senior traders in London where appropriate
• Build sound habits around risk in a 24/7 context: position and PnL reconciliation, exchange/geo considerations and counterparty awareness
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of trading processes and controls as the Singapore presence matures

Collaboration & Development

• Work closely with engineers and quants to improve trading systems, tooling and market-making infrastructure for the Asia session
• Partner with the London desk to maintain a consistent global strategy and a seamless follow-the-sun coverage model
• Develop your trading under the mentorship of senior traders, with a clear, meritocratic path to greater ownership and responsibility as you demonstrate impact

WHO YOU ARE:

• Typically 3-4 years of options trading experience at a proprietary trading firm, market maker or bank
• Strong grounding in options pricing, volatility and risk management; exposure to automated/systematic market making is a plus
• Crypto/digital assets experience is welcome but not essential; strong cross-asset options traders (equity, index, FICC vol) who can ramp quickly into crypto are encouraged to apply
• Strong existing network of OTC/DCP relationships in digital assets is a plus
• Comfort in a fast, technology-driven, latency-aware trading environment
• The maturity and discipline to run a trading session with a high degree of independence, knowing when to act and when to escape
• Strong quantitative intuition, sharp decision-making under pressure, and a collaborative style that works across a distributed (Singapore-London) team
• Eagerness to learn, take ownership and grow with a new desk
