Job summary

Canopius is seeking a Financial Accountant with a focus on technical accounting and credit control for Direct and Reinsurance classes. You will investigate legacy transactions, chase brokers for remittance advice, and allocate receipts and payments for the Syndicate.

The role also covers premium collections, reconciliation work, and reporting for management. Experience in accounts receivable/payable and bank reconciliations is essential, with Excel proficiency and interest in Lloyd’s operations

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations and cash accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Direct and Facultative Insurance classes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review existing list of legacy cash receipts.
• Perform chasers for cash collected from brokers for remittance advices and identify risks in system.
• Allocate receipts and payments for Syndicate.
• Manage premiums collections by handling queries and reconcile cash collected to transactions.
• Assist Finance with allocation of premiums collections and monitor broker balances.
• Prepare credit control reports and provide updates on collections for management review.
• Assist with internal and external reporting such as Management accounts.
• Support management on ad hoc duties.
