Job summary

Canopius in Singapore is recruiting for a role focused on technical accounting and credit control for Reinsurance classes. You will investigate legacy transactions and support the finance team in collections, aging analyses, and management reporting.

The role requires experience in accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, cash accounting, and strong Excel skills. Knowledge of Lloyd’s operations is advantageous in this global specialty insurer environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of various reinsurance classes of business.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Subscribe policy administration system advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process proportional treaty statements for premium and claims and ensure data accuracy in the underwriting system.
• Chase overdue statements from brokers and cedants.
• Prepare and raise payment request forms for amounts payable to brokers and cedants.
• Assist Finance with allocation of premium collections, handle queries, monitor and expedite collections, and prepare credit control reports for management.
• Send statements of accounts to brokers/cedents for payments.
• Analyze accounts receivable and ageing to determine overdue balances and review provisions and collection procedures.
• Assist with internal and external reporting such as Management accounts.
• Support Management on ad hoc duties.

Job description

This role will be performing technical accounting and credit control management for Reinsurance classes of business, investigating and clearing legacy transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for processing of proportional treaty statements for both premium and claims and ensuring accuracy of data entered into the underwriting system
• Perform chasers for overdue statements of accounts from brokers and cedants
• Prepare and raise Payment Request Forms for amounts payable to brokers and cedants.
• Assist Finance team with allocation of premiums collections by handling queries, monitor and expedite collection of brokers’ outstanding balances, and preparation of credit control reports giving updates on collections for management review
• Responsible for sending statements of accounts out to brokers/cedents for payments
• Analyze accounts receivables and ageing of accounts to determine overdue accounts, review provisions and collection procedures aiming to reduce / eliminate overdue balances
• To assist on internal and external reporting such as Management accounts
• Support Management on any ad hoc duties

Skills & Experience

Knowledge or experience in various Reinsurance classes of business.

Knowledge in Lloyd’s business and operations would be advantageous.

Experience in accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations and cash accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Experience with Subscribe policy administration system advantageous
