Upper Spring Consulting Pte. Ltd. supports a major Singapore bank in hiring a Credit Analyst specialized in Structured Commodity Finance and Supply Chain Finance for the Risk Management Department.

The role focuses on credit analysis, risk assessment of corporate clients, and monitoring credit facilities. You will review financial statements, determine client ratings, and provide clear risk mitigation recommendations while staying compliant with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant credit analysis experience in Structured Commodity Financing and Supply Chain Financing in a banking environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, corporate credit assessment and banking credit facilities.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese is essential; CFA, FRM or ACCA will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit analysis and assessment of corporate customers, including reviewing credit applications for compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank’s credit policies.
  • Analyse customers’ financial performance, business operations, cash flow, repayment capacity and overall creditworthiness to identify key credit risks.
  • Assess the overall credit risk of corporate groups and determine appropriate client credit ratings.
  • Identify key risk factors and recommend effective risk mitigation measures, credit controls and appropriate risk management strategies.
  • Review and provide credit opinions on proposals submitted to the Pre-Trial Committee, including providing relevant support and secretarial duties as required.
  • Conduct industry and sector research covering market trends, competitive dynamics, industry outlook and emerging risks across assigned sectors.
  • Monitor approved credit facilities, commitments and key risk indicators to ensure continued compliance with approved terms and conditions.
  • Identify early warning signals and emerging credit concerns and recommend timely and effective risk mitigation or remedial actions.
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulatory requirements, credit policies, market developments and industry trends affecting the Bank’s corporate customers.
  • Support other credit risk analysis, monitoring and ad hoc projects as assigned by the department.

We are representing our client, the Singapore branch of a large Chinese bank, to search for a Credit Analyst experienced in Structured Commodity Finance and Supply Chain Finance to join the Risk Management Department.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant credit analysis experience in Structured Commodity Financing and Supply Chain Financing in a banking environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, corporate credit assessment and banking credit facilities.
  • Solid understanding of corporate credit risk management, financial analysis, industry assessment and risk mitigation practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify key risks and formulate sound credit recommendations.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, FRM or ACCA will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across functions.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese is essential, as the role will require communication and collaboration with Chinese-speaking counterparts from Head Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and work effectively under tight timelines.
