Akribis Systems Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Cost Estimator to support cost analysis, supplier evaluation and quotation preparation.
You will develop cost models from materials, labor, overhead and manufacturing processes; compare quotes; and identify savings through design and process improvements. 1–3 years in costing or procurement and strong Excel/ERP experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation & Analysis
Conduct "should-cost" analysis to benchmark fair pricing.
Analyze and compare supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
Develop detailed cost models for products based on materials, labor, overhead, and manufacturing processes.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through design improvements, material substitutions, and process optimizations.
Sourcing & Supplier Negotiation
Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, components, and services.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms to achieve cost efficiency.
Request and analyze quotes from suppliers, ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
Support & Documentation
Monitor actual costs vs estimated costs and investigate variances.
Support Sales and Business Unit teams in preparing competitive quotations.
Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, supplier quotes, andpricetrends.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related technical field.
Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience in costing, cost estimation, sourcing, procurement, or a similar engineering/manufacturing role.
Experience in contract manufacturing (CM), precision engineering, electronics, automation, or other manufacturing industries is preferred.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost structures.
Experience in supplier quotation analysis, RFQ processes, cost estimation, and supplier negotiation.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with cost calculations and data analysis.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, BC, or similar systems will be an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, Sales, and suppliers.
Positive attitude, strong sense of responsibility, and willingness to learn and grow.
Manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, casting, injection molding, or assembly.
Knowledge of engineering materials such as metals, plastics, composites, and related materials.
Understanding of material pricing, labor costs, overhead allocation, and manufacturing cost drivers.
Familiarity with cost breakdown structures and should-cost analysis.
Knowledge of supplier sourcing and commercial negotiation.
