Job summary

The Lentor Residence Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced and independent cook for our upcoming nursing home in Kaki Bukit. This chef will be deployed at our Macpherson or Hougang branch for training and will prepare meals per approved menus and dietary requirements to ensure timely service for residents and staff.

You should have basic culinary training or hands-on kitchen experience, a minimum secondary education, and a Certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene. Healthcare experience is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Secondary education required with basic culinary training.
• Certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• Healthcare kitchen experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to standby for staff replacement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and standby all items according to daily approved menu.
• Ensure meals meet standard recipes and IDDSI standards.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workstations.
• Report faults of kitchen equipment.
• Maintain fridge, chiller, dry store FIFO and minimise wastage.
• Standby for staff replacement and perform other duties to ensure smooth operations.

Job description

The chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with approved menus and dietary requirements to ensure timely meal service for residents and staff.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Prepare& Standby all items in accordance with daily approved menu.
• Ensure all meals are prepared and presented in accordance with standard recipes, portion, and IDDSI standards.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and workstations. Upkeep of utensils and equipment.
• Report faults of kitchen equipment promptly.
• Maintain Fridge, Chiller Proper Storage & dry store First In First Out (FIFO). Minimise food wastage. Check stock expiry date.
• Filing &Temperature Record (Cooked Food, Storage).
• Pest control, follow up on Kitchen Equipment Servicing date, Cleaning Timetable.
• Standby for staff replacement due to exigencies.
• Perform any other duties assigned to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Requirements:

• Minimum with Secondary education
• Basic culinary training or relevant hands-on kitchen experience
• Minimum Certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene
• At least 1-2 year of relevant working experience
• Relevant working experience in healthcare will be an advantage
