Job summary

OAKS PLUS LIMITED in Singapore invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant to plan and prepare well-balanced meals for children at our Bedok and Jurong West centres.

You will ensure kitchen hygiene, assist during meal times, and maintain a clean serving area, while upholding ECDA standards and HECCP guidelines. Experience in cooking and a WSQ Food Hygiene certification are preferred; first aid certification is an asset.

Qualifications

• Able to cook and bake for children.
• At least 1 year cooking experience in similar scale.
• Prefer WSQ Food Hygiene Certification.
• First aid certification recognised by ECDA.

Responsibilities

• Plans healthy and balanced meals, snacks and refreshments for children in accordance to HECCP guidelines.
• Ensures hygiene practices during meal preparation.
• Prepares and sets a clean, conducive environment for serving meals and snacks.
• Assists during children’s meal times and cleans tables and floors after meals.
• Maintains adequate food quantities including second/third helpings.
• Keeps the kitchen clean: floors, fridge and equipment.
• Cleans kitchen windows regularly.
• Provides a food order list as required.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Job description

The main job responsibility is to prepare well-balanced and nutritious meals for children. He or She will also ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen and perform general housekeeping duties at the centre.

We have opening for our Bedok and Jurong West Centre.

Responsibilities

• Plans healthy and balanced meals, snacks and refreshments for children in accordance to guidelines of the Healthy Eating in Child Care Centres Programmes (HECCP)
• Ensures hygiene practices during meal’s preparation
• Plans, prepares and set a clean and conducive environment for serving the children’s meals/snacks in terms of:
• Assists during children’s meal times
• Cleans by wiping and sanitizing tables and sweeping floors after each class meal/snack session
• Ensures that meals, snack and refreshment served is sufficient for children with allowance for second/third helpings
• Maintains the general cleanliness of the kitchen by:
• Washing and sanitizing kitchen floors daily, cleaning the fridge and other equipment on a regular basis.
• Cleans the widows at the kitchen regularly
• Provides a food order list as and when required Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

• Has flair for cooking; able to cook and bake
• Has at least 1 year cooking experience in similar scale
• Preferably has a attended the WSQ Food Hygiene Course
• Has a valid certificate in first aid recognized by ECDA
