Job summary

SELETAR HILLS PTE. LTD. is seeking a cook and cleaner for Wharton Preschool - Sengkang (Seletar Hills) in Singapore. The role involves preparing meals and desserts for breakfast and tea breaks, serving lunches, and maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe environment in the preschool centre.

The incumbent will ensure compliance with ECDA food hygiene standards, monitor groceries, and coordinate cleaning duties with staff to support the health and well-being of children, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals, desserts and fruits for breakfast and tea breaks as per planned menu.
• Apportions and serves catered lunches according to the number of children.
• Complies with ECDA and centre's food hygiene requirements for preparation and pantry cleanliness.
• Monitors and orders food items and groceries; raises purchase requests to Centre Leader.
• Checks that all ordered items are received, checked and stored correctly.
• Maintains high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness in pantry, storage, cabinets and fridge.
• Washes tableware and cutlery and returns them to allocated locations.
• Performs cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, wiping and vacuuming of designated areas.
• Clears rubbish from allocated areas.
• Coordinates duties with other cleaners.

Job description

The cook and cleaner perform a wide range of duties such as preparing meals, desserts and fruits for breakfast and tea breaks. In addition, she has to maintain a clean, hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the childcare centre. The role supports the health and wellbeing of children, staff, and visitors by ensuring that all areas of the centre meet the required standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in accordance with the centre's policies and regulatory requirements.

Duties include:

• Prepares meals, desserts and fruits based on the planned menu for breakfast and tea breaks.

• Apportions and serves the catered lunch according to the number of children.

• Complies with the ECDA and centre’s food hygiene requirements for food preparation and pantry cleanliness.

• Monitors and orders the food items and groceries required and raises purchase requests to the Centre Leader.

• Checks that all food items and groceries ordered are received, checked, and stored correctly.

• Maintains high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and tidiness in the Pantry, storage area, cabinets and fridge.

• Washes the tableware and cutlery and keeps them in the allocated locations.

• Performs cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, wiping and vacuuming of designated areas.
