Job summary

PeopleSearch is seeking a Contracts Manager to join a major MRT project in West Singapore. You will be responsible for the contracts on the project and will lead a team of Senior QS and QS, reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager.

You will oversee all contractual and commercial matters from start to finish, manage procurement, variations, claims and final accounts, monitor costs and cash flow, and resolve disputes with the client and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in QS/Contracts within construction.
• Proven experience leading a team of QS and Senior QS.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore contracts and commercial practices.

About the Role
Our client, a leading A1 main contractor,is looking for a Contracts Manager to join a major MRT project in West Singapore with a contract value of around S$600 million. Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, you will be overall in charge of the contracts for the whole project and lead a team of Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all contractual and commercial matters for the project from start to finish
• Lead, guide and develop a team of Senior QS and QS
• Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, extension of time and final accounts
• Oversee subcontract procurement, tendering, negotiation and award
• Monitor project costs, cash flow and financial performance, and report to senior management
• Manage and resolve contractual issues and disputes with the client, consultants and subcontractors

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or any other relevant field
• Minimum 10 years of working experience in the QS/Contracts field in the construction industry
• Proven experience managing a team of QS and Senior QS
• Strong background in contracts management for large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience in LTA projects will be considered. This includes MRT, depot, road and bridge projects
• Strong knowledge of Singapore construction contracts and commercial practices
• Good leadership, negotiation and communication skills
