Job summary

The Public Service Division is offering a Research Assistant (Food and Agrotech) role within the School of Applied Science in Singapore. The position focuses on plant cultivation trials, extractions, and data interpretation to support ongoing research projects.

The candidate will produce technical reports, assist with presentations, and manage procurement activities. This is a contract-based role requiring collaborative work with project leaders and team members.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Food Science, Biological Sciences, Agricultural Science, Agrotechnology or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with plant cultivation, growth trials, and chemical laboratory analysis.
• Knowledge of experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of research findings.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT applications.
• Self-motivated, meticulous, and willing to learn.
• Successful candidate will be employed on a contract basis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plant cultivation trials to access plant growth performance
• Carry out extraction and bioactivity assays on plant samples
• Collect, analyse, interpret, and present research data
• Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
• Support procurement activities, including sourcing materials, liaising with vendors, and raising purchase requests.
• Work closely with project leaders and team members to achieve project deliverables.
