Job summary

SINGAPORE REINSURANCE CORPORATION LIMITED is seeking a 6-month contract accountant to perform comprehensive general ledger accounting and reconciliation tasks, supporting accurate financial reporting and regulatory submissions for Singapore Re and its branch entities. There is potential for conversion to permanent employment.

Responsibilities include posting transactions, preparing schedules, reconciling accounts, processing journal vouchers, and assisting MAS returns.

Qualifications

• Accounting diploma or degree completed.
• Up to 3 years in reporting or insurance preferred.
• Proficient in Excel for data handling.

Responsibilities

• Post transactions and update general ledger reports to maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare prepayment schedules, shareholders’ reports, and quarterly interfund settlements to enhance financial transparency.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Raise and import journal vouchers for Singapore Re and branch entities, including inter-company settlements, inward and outward bookings, exchange differences, and cash book postings to maintain inter-entity accounting integrity.
• Prepare accrual and receipt schedules to accurately reflect financial obligations and receipts.
• Develop monthly and quarterly work schedules to organize accounting activities and meet deadlines.
• Process and prepare payments for MASNET charges to ensure compliance with regulatory fee requirements.
• Assist the reporting team in preparing and submitting MAS returns, including XFDF files, to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Execute ad-hoc accounting tasks assigned by the reporting team to support operational needs.
