Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking a laboratory technician to perform tests on crude oil, sour water, wastewater, and related samples. The role requires meticulous testing, accurate record-keeping, and independent daily lab management.

You will conduct TOC, turbidity, pH, conductivity analyses and oil/grease testing, while maintaining equipment and safety standards. Practical lab exposure is preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Prior laboratory exposure preferred.
• Able to work independently and manage laboratory activities with minimal supervision.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate testing records and results.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on crude oil, sour water, wastewater, cooling water and boiler water samples.
• Conduct water and chemical analysis using methods, TOC, turbidity, pH and conductivity.
• Perform FIA testing for Phenol and FTIR analysis for oil and grease in wastewater.
• Prepare laboratory equipment, samples, chemicals and reagents prior to testing.
• Compile, record and report analytical test results accurately in the relevant database.
• Clean, maintain and ensure proper upkeep of laboratory equipment after use.
• Handle various industrial water samples, including Sour Water containing high levels of H₂S and ammonia.
• Independently manage day-to-day operations of a small laboratory.
• Manage chemical and laboratory inventory, including purchasing, stock monitoring and replenishment.
• Maintain proper laboratory housekeeping, safety and compliance standards.
• Support other laboratory testing and operational activities as required.
