Job summary

Binnies Singapore Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the construction and commissioning of water treatment projects. You will supervise contractor activities, review progress, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

This role requires extensive field leadership, coordination between design teams and contractors, and strict adherence to QA and safety standards. A background in major water/wastewater plant projects is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Approximately 15 years of construction experience, with at least 10 years in managing large water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software is advantageous.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Experience handling complex contracts and working across multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PM to oversee construction and commissioning, including processing contractor claims (payments, variations, and requests for extension of time).
• Coordinate design team and contractors to ensure schedule, cost controls, documents controls and QA programmes, and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Review and updating of the Contractor’s schedules showing the status of all projects as well as cost status for all contracts.
• Manage the quality assurance and safety requirements, and also the Consultant’s site supervision team.

Job description

• Assist the PM to oversee the construction and commissioning of the works, including processing claims from the Contractors such as progress payments, variations, and requests for extension of time
• Oversee and coordinate the work between the Design Team and Contractors, for ensuring consistency in scheduling, cost controls, documents controls and implementation of quality assurance programmes, and ensuring compliance with contract specifications
• Review and updating of the Contractor’s schedules showing the status of all projects as well as cost status for all contracts
• Managing the quality assurance and safety requirements, and also the Consultant’s site supervision team

Requirements

• Have about 15 years of construction experience, including at least 10 years shall be in managing the construction of large used water/water treatment plant projects construction contracts of similar size and complexity and possess a relevant engineering degree or certification
• Familiarity of Primavera P6 scheduling software would be advantageous
• Good supervisory skills
• Project experience in water/water treatment plant projects is an advantage
