Job summary

SH DESIGN & BUILD PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a capable Construction Manager to lead complex builds from concept to handover. You will coordinate architects, engineers and subcontractors, ensuring safety, compliance and cost efficiency across all stages.

The role emphasizes rigorous documentation, timely reporting to the Project Manager, and proactive problem solving to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage and monitor construction projects from conception to completion with cost-effective execution plans
• Manage construction workers and subcontractors
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists
• Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations
• Monitor and report to Project Manager or Senior Construction Manager on progress, risks, and opportunities in a timely manner
• Ensure all changes to specifications, work scopes and drawings are properly documented
• Swiftly respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems
• Monitor productivity and schedule performance; investigate underperformance and recommend improvements by updating procedures
• Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote a safety culture throughout the company
• Manage materials on site to minimize waste and avoid overstock
• Manage assets and equipment rental for optimal utilization and cost control
• Manage manpower and overtime to ensure cost efficiency within budget
• Perform other ad-hoc projects and duties as required by management.

Job responsibilities:

• Monitor and report to Project Manager / Senior Construction Manager of project details, including progress, risks and opportunities in a timely manner.
• Ensures all changes to specifications, work scopes and drawings are properly documented
• Swift respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems
• Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance. Provide recommendations and institute measures for improvement by modification to operating procedures/work instructions.
• Adhere to Company Safety Standards and promote safety culture among the ranks throughout the Company.
• Manage material at construction site to ensure zero wastage and no overstock of material
• Manage company assets and equipment rental to ensure optimal utilization and cost
• Manage manpower and overtime cost to ensure optimal cost benefit within or below budget
• Any other ad-hoc projects and duties as required by the management.
