Job summary

Achieve Group, a maritime services organization in Singapore, seeks an experienced compliance professional to strengthen sanctions and ethics framework. You will advise stakeholders, manage complex reviews and drive cross-functional initiatives across jurisdictions.

Key focus areas include sanctions screening, regulatory tracking across US/UK/EU regimes, due diligence, policy development, and training to ensure robust controls and governance within the business.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Law, Business, Compliance or another relevant discipline. Professional compliance certification or postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
  • Approximately 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in sanctions, regulatory compliance or a wider ethics and compliance function.
  • Prior exposure to maritime, shipping, commodities or another highly regulated international industry is strongly preferred.
  • Sound working knowledge of sanctions regulations, due diligence processes and screening or compliance management systems.
  • Experience supporting multiple jurisdictions and leading compliance initiatives involving regional or global stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical ability and sound judgement when dealing with complex or commercially sensitive matters.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Legal, commercial and operational teams.
  • Candidates with deeper relevant experience may be considered at a more senior level.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee sanctions screening and risk assessments involving counterparties, vessels, cargoes and commercial transactions, ensuring potential concerns are investigated and escalated appropriately.
  • Track developments across major international sanctions regimes, including the US, UK and EU, and advise management on their regulatory and commercial impact.
  • Conduct enhanced due diligence on higher-risk business relationships and transactions, including coordinating investigations and engaging external counsel where required.
  • Develop and maintain sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy, conflicts of interest and other ethics-related policies and controls.
  • Lead compliance projects across different markets, working with Legal, commercial and operational teams to implement consistent standards throughout the business.
  • Review existing compliance processes and screening systems, identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver practical compliance training tailored to different functions, locations and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a key compliance adviser to internal stakeholders and support cross-functional matters within the broader Legal function.

  • Sanctions, ethics and regulatory advisory portfolio

An established maritime organisation is seeking an experienced compliance professional to strengthen its sanctions and wider ethics and compliance framework.
