Job summary

The Singapore Housing & Development Board (HDB) is seeking a Media Relations professional within its Strategic Communications & Engagement Group. You will help develop and implement communications strategies to promote understanding of HDB's policies and programmes.

You will strategise and execute publicity plans across mainstream and online media, plan media visits and events, craft timely responses to queries, and monitor coverage to address issues of public interest.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of English and strong interpersonal skills.
• Keen interest in current affairs and fast-paced environments.
• Prior experience in communications, journalism, design, or related field is an advantage.

What the role is

As a member of HDB’s Strategic Communications & Engagement Group, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the development and implementation of communications strategies to promote understanding of HDB’s policies and programmes.

What you will be working on

Your role in Media Relations includes:

• Strategising and executing publicity plans to profile Singapore’s public housing programme and policies across mainstream and online news media, and on HDB’s owned platforms
• Planning and organising media visits and events and engaging the media to create greater awareness and understanding of HDB’s policies and programmes
• Assessing and crafting timely responses to media queries, forum letters, commentaries and editorials
• Monitoring and providing analysis of media coverage on HDB, and planning publicity to address issues of media interest

What we are looking for

Requirements You should possess an excellent command of English and strong interpersonal skills. You should also have a keen interest in current affairs and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in communications, journalism, design, or a related field will be a strong advantage. Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract at the first instance.
