Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a Settlement Executive in Singapore to manage accurate and timely settlement of commodity trading transactions, verify trade details, prepare invoices, and coordinate payments with Finance and Treasury.

The role suits candidates with 2–3 years in settlements or finance operations, strong numerical skills, and proficiency in Excel. You will work with trading, operations and finance teams to maintain accurate records and support month-end closing.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of settlements, trade accounting or finance operations experience.
• Good understanding of invoicing, payment processing and account reconciliation.
• Familiarity with commodity contracts, shipping documents and pricing mechanisms is advantageous.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP/commodity trading systems helpful.
• Able to manage multiple transactions and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process settlements for commodity purchases and sales per contractual terms.
• Verify trade details, pricing, quantities and supporting documents before settlement.
• Prepare and check invoices, debit notes and credit notes.
• Coordinate payment instructions and approvals with Finance and Treasury.
• Monitor settlement deadlines and outstanding receivables.
• Reconcile counterparty statements with trading and accounting records.
• Liaise with counterparties and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate settlement records and update systems.
• Support month-end closing, account reconciliations and audits.
• Follow internal controls and escalate exceptions promptly.
