Job summary

Amius is seeking a Commodity Derivative Sales professional to collaborate with the sales team and front office, managing and growing client relationships across tradeable agricultural commodities and expanding into FX, energy, and metals.

The ideal candidate has experience in a commercial commodities role and a working understanding of how physical and derivatives trading is executed, including OTC contracts and risk management strategies.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in physical commodities trading, paper trading, or brokerage within commodities or FX markets.
• Working understanding of derivatives (futures and options), hedging strategies, and structured products.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel where required for networking.

Responsibilities

• Support the wider sales team in managing existing client relationships and ensuring best execution of OTC trades.
• Develop derivatives knowledge across futures, options, and structured products to provide clients with tailored OTC solutions for managing price risk.
• Advise clients on market trends, supply/demand fundamentals, and macroeconomic developments affecting agricultural commodities.
• Collaborate with the Front Office to provide pricing intelligence and hedging strategies.
• Build a client book across commodity markets by attending industry events, conferences, and trade shows.

Job description

We are looking for a Commodity Derivative Sales professional to collaborate with the wider sales team and front office, managing and growing client relationships across tradeable agricultural commodities (Grains & Oilseeds, Sugar, Coffee, Cocoa, Cotton), while also identifying new opportunities in FX, energy, and metals.

The ideal candidate has some experience in a commercial commodities role and a working understanding of how physical and derivatives trading is executed.

• Support the wider sales team in managing existing client relationships and ensuring best execution of OTC trades.
• Develop derivatives knowledge across futures, options, and structured products to provide clients with tailored OTC solutions for managing price risk.
• Advise clients on market trends, supply/demand fundamentals, and macroeconomic developments affecting agricultural commodities.
• Collaborate with the wider Front Office (Trading and Research) to provide pricing intelligence and hedging strategies.
• Build a personal network and client book across commodity markets, including by attending industry events, conferences, and trade shows to strengthen client relationships and market presence.
• Negotiate OTC contracts and monitor client positions, margin requirements, and exposures.
• Maintain OTC regulatory compliance.
• 1–5 years of experience in physical commodities trading, paper trading, or brokerage within commodities or FX markets.
• Genuine eagerness to learn about commodities, with a strong interest in markets and commodity trading more broadly.
• Working understanding of derivatives (futures and options), hedging strategies, and structured products.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel where required for network-building.
• An existing network of commodity clients is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in structured OTC products, pricing, and risk management is beneficial but not essential.
